St. Anne̕ s Gothic Church in Boreča

The church by the cemetery in Boreča is an outstanding example of the late Gothic architecture from the first third of the 16th century. It represents the last monument from the so-called Prekmurian group of Gothic style and the date of 1521 that can be read above the west portal also denotes its time of origin. St. Ann’s church has a single-nave structure with the polygonal presbytery and enhanced pillars that can hardly hide its original style. The Baroque reconstruction from the beginning of the 18th century concealed most of the original Gothic features. (Source: S. The church has been rebuilt in 1911 and 2000.
