Church of St. Nicholas and Virgin Mary in Selo village - Romanesque rotunda

The Rotunda is lying in the village Selo and it is a special monument of Romanesque architecture and Gothic wall painting. The external brick wall is densely divided by vertical bars rising from the foundation which is made of volcano tuff from Grad.  It was built in the 13th century. In the 15th century, it was repainted with passion images by an unknown master who belonged to a so-called ducal workshop.

The Selo rotunda presents an exceptional piece of an art-historical monument of Goričko.

Rotunda stands in the meadow and it is especially attractive to visit in spring or early summer when the Green-winged Orchids are blooming.
